Friday, May 4, - “The Zen and Art of Loving Relationships: Everyday Practices for Friends and Lovers.”
Dr. Karl is the autor of nine books, including “If the Buddha Dated/Married/Got Stuck/Had Kids,” believes joy is one of the highest vibrations of energy in the human experience. “It’s powerful flow provides vibrant healing and it is life affirming,” she says, “yet many people limit their capacity for joy and happiness with shame, guilt, perfectionis and other shoulds and shouldn’ts. Dr. Karl will explore how to hance with your critics and stimulate the immune system, revitalize relationships, and open our minds to new possibilities.

26 ~ Bluegrass on the Arkansas – Expanded from a Sunday-only event for the past several Memorial Day weekends, this popular event has expanded to include some Saturday shows. Join us on Saturday, with a show that features Carin Mari at the SteamPlant Event Center.

27 ~ Bluegrass on the Arkansas Enjoy the afternoon in Riverside Park with an impressive line-up of bluegrass bands. Live music begins at Noon and will continue into the early evening. A variety of food will be available along with a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks served by the Salida Rotary Club.

The 2011 line up features five different bands, two of which are past winners of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band contest. This year promises to be one of the best.
Admission is free
. Donations in support of Rotary’s Scholarship Fund are encouraged.
